MARION, AR – The 17th Annual Esperanza Bonanza festival, held yearly in Marion, has been set for Thursday May 7 through Saturday May 9, 2009. It will be held at its usual location at the Marion Recreational Complex, located near Marion High School off the I-55 service road.
Esperanza Bonanza, which started in 1992 as a small group of businesses cooking barbecue in friendly competition, has grown tremendously over the years and now draws a crowd of over 15,000 visitors from all over Arkansas and surrounding states. This three-day rain or shine event is always lots of fun for the whole family, and includes a barbecue cooking competition, live music, rodeo, golf tournament, carnival, children's day activities, adult games, and much more!
Esperanza Bonanza is also an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that is responsible for planning, organizing, and working the yearly festival. The remainder of the year, Esperanza Bonanza gives back to area charities, causes, and projects. The festival is our main source of fund raising to make our charitable work possible.
